Can anyone speak to the the effects of going vegetarian or even vegan and the effect on their meditation?

I think if you have a hard time focusing becoming vegetarian is only going to exacerbate it. Some people require meat in their diet to stay grounded and focused. I know I feel like that.

It’s difficult to say if one is better than the other. I think there is a lot of merit to giving your body what you think it needs whenever you think it needs it. If you crave steak, you may need protein. While it’s not good to overindulge, it’s not good to ‘underindulge’ either.

I suppose I became vegan at the same time as developing a spiritual practice. All in all it makes me feel lighter and less of a consumer. It also makes me feel like I have a deeper connection with all beings if I am not eating them.
