I heard it’s not good to eat right before yoga. Is that true? Is it better to be starving or to have just eaten?

It’s true, it really is best to practice yoga on an empty stomach. Give it a try someday! You would be amazed at how much energy you still have in your body. – KaliGirl

Sometimes I find myself famished as I walk in the studio, and it’s definitely harder for me to practice. So I try to drink juice and water in plenty before I go to class. It definitely helps me stay focused when I am really hydrated. And I also try to be better about planning my meals. I will snack at noon and then have a sandwich or something around 2:30 if I am heading to class at five. Hope this is helpful! Namaste! – LalitaMa

I eat before yoga class all the time and never have any problems. I never eat big meals though, I always only snack, so that could contribute to why. I eat like a bird, but all day long, so I can’t really imagine myself not having a little something before class. - CHATuranga
