The Sitting Boat Posture - Navasana

Sit up with the legs stretched forward. Make sure you are sitting down on the seat bones. Inhale and raise both legs up to 60 degrees. The torso will naturally lean back to a 60-degree angle. The position of the body will mimic the letter V. Keep the spine straight. The arms are straightforward and perpendicular to the floor, by the outside of the knees, with the palms facing each other.

An easy variation of this position will be done with the knees bend.

Benefits:

  • It works on the lower abdomen.
  • It strengthens the legs, hips, abdomen, and arms.
  • It develops concentration.
