I am looking towards practicing Yoga for many reasons. I am a beginner and need to know if Yoga is the right move to make for my problem. I am 28 years old and my average weight is 110 lbs female. I haven’t been considered tone my whole life. During my pregnancy I started having tailbone pain. My son is now 2 and a half and I still have the pain. The pain is not too severe but I am hoping to have another child in the near future and I am scared that my body won’t be able to handle it. I recently found out that stress can even cause my tailbone pain which I found to be shocking. I have heard about stress hurting your body but I never thought my body would prove it to me. My question is will Yoga help me? I am worried it won’t just because some of the positions look really hard on your tailbone but then again maybe the positions would actually help my tailbone. I have been doing Yoga on the Nitendo Wii Fit for a while now and I really like it. I haven’t done it enough to know if its helping my tailbone or not. I know I really need to strengthen my body this time for myself and my future pregnancy. Thank you for listening I hope you can give me some good news.
Answer
Sat Nam,
I am sorry for the delay in answering you. I think yoga can help you release stress and strengthen the muscles in your body. It is not necessary to stay in the postures that are painful for you. The beauty of yoga is that it has many alternative ways that you can practice.
I would recommend you to assist to classes with a teacher who can guide, and correct you, and follow your evolution as well.
Blessings
