Ananda Yoga emphasizes the practice of relaxing into postures. The technique includes the following: Asana, Pranayama, Meditation and Yoga philosophy. Yogananda taught his students a unique method called The Energizing Exercises. This practice consists of a series of 39 “special energy” control techniques developed to help the practitioner increase focus, control the life force and become aware of the body’s energy through individual muscle tensing and releasing, accompanied by an energizing “double” breath.
