Beloved spiritual teacher, Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati dies at 71 at Kashi Ashram.
She lost her battle with pancreatic cancer last month and left her earth body surrounded by close family and loved ones at her home of 36 years Kashi Ashram, the community she founded.
She was very well known for her love and compassion for the sick, and the people suffering and dying especially from AIDS. She was a restless advocate for human rights of those with AIDS and the GLBT community.
Ma founded the Kashi interfaith, spiritual community 35 years ago, and now is an international spiritual and service outreach organization.
A memorial in Ma’s honor will be held on her birthday, May 26th, at Kashi.
