Our world and our own lives are constantly changing. We want comfort and comfort produces relief, but relief produce weakness, weakness produces poverty, and poverty produces difficulty. Thus, looking for comfort creates difficulties. And when we are going through difficult times, we again look for comfort. And so on.
What we must understand is that, in the end, comfort weakens us. Difficulties, on the other hand, strengthen us physically, mentally and spiritually. Whenever there is no difficulty, there is no development. Do not try to avoid difficulties, learn from them. Do not give up. Things that are easy and simple all of the time do not allow us to enjoy them as we should. When we suffer, when we experience pain and fear in a difficult time, we obtain a greater appreciation of life. An easy life will not make us happier. Difficulties are the true cause of happiness. In order to be happy, we must continue to experience difficulties.
