Men are very different from women. Important differences in the structure of their brains and the impact of their hormonal and sexual functions cause them to experience very different realities. These differences also include their nutritional needs.
Just as women need particular nutrients during pregnancy or to preventosteoporosis, men require nutrients to help prevent prostate cancer and sexual dysfunction, maintain muscle mass, and more. Men are generally more susceptible to suffering higher levels of stress than women because they have a tendency to keep their stress inside. And while poor diet is a factor in heart disease for both men and women, men show, on average, signs of heart disease ten to twenty years earlier than women.
There are four conditions, which should be met before a man eats and these are as follows:
- A calm and quiet atmosphere should surround him while he eats.
- He should be free of any mental or physical pressure.
- The food he is about to eat should be properly prepared from proper ingredients.
- There should be enough time for him to eat gracefully.
If all of these conditions can’t be met, it is better to remain hungry.Even the best foods, when eaten under stressful conditions, can put strain on a man’s nervous system, which in turn can affect the rest of his constitution and prove worse than not eating at all.
"Nutrients that are good for the heart improve circulation to all parts of the body, and these same nutrients provide a layer of protection against cancer and other chronic diseases," says Christine Gerbstadt, MD, RD, a Florida-based physician and spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association.
This also means that any food that is good for the cardiovascular system is also good for erectile function in men. |
