Best breakfast for women ****
Yogi Bhajan, master of Kundalini Yoga, recommended this breakfast as the most beneficial for women. It’s called Ms. Whiz.
8oz of fresh squeezed orange juice
1 tbs of chlorophyll
2 tsp of cold pressed sesame oil or almond oil.
2 tsp of Rice brand syrup
This is a wonderful way for a woman to have her daily dose of sesame oil. If she wants to loose weight she can add 2 Tbs of protein powder and take this 4 times a day as a substitute for meals.
Daily minerals and supplements
Different doctors will recommend different amounts and types of vitamins to be taken daily. Choose a doctor you trust and follow his/her advice!
Chlorophyll is a daily must in a woman’s diet. It decreases the levels of acidity in the body, strengthens the immune system, enhances energy, detoxifies the liver, eliminates body odor and bad breath, it cleans the digestive tract, aides in the prevention of liver cancer, benefits cancer therapy, helps with anemia, and aides in the elimination of mold from the body.
Omega oils, cold-pressed sesame oil, raw almond oil, and extra virgin olive oil have many benefits. Oils can act as laxatives. They provide the body with good fat and help to eliminate toxins. You can relieve fatigue and increase energy by taking 1 or 2 teaspoons of oil for a few days before menstruation and for 4 or 5 days after menstruation. Oils also reduce hunger and give you shiny, healthy skin.
Because of the many great benefits of oil, it’s highly recommended that you take 2 teaspoons a day regularly with your normal diet.
Say No! To drastic diets
A woman should not fast on liquids alone for more than 1 day. Mono diets may be followed for up to 10 days (or longer when supervised by a professional). Otherwise, she is at risk of setting the pulse at her navel point out of balance which can cause an imbalance in the pituitary gland, breast, and digestive system.
Take 2 tablespoons of Turmeric every week
Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It purifies a woman’s blood. It’s recommended for pain in the joins and muscles. It also keeps the vaginal and mucous membranes healthy. This natural food is believed to support liver health, helps prevent bad cholesterol, and is being studied for its ability to block tumors. Turmeric extract also has a reputation for supporting healthy skin care, healthy cholesterol levels, and liver and gallbladder health.
Hormonal imbalance can produce changes in the glandular system which can affect behavior. To recover hormonal balance, follow the following recipes for no longer than 10 days. If symptoms haven’t improved after 10 days, seek medical advice.
Daikon Radish fast. Daikon is a root that looks like a carrot but is white and bigger. Eat nothing but raw or steamed Daikon. It also cleans the liver. To dissolve cysts in the ovaries you can make a tea out of the white Daikon and drink it daily (the more you drink the better). Sometimes the leaves are still attached to the radish; in this case you can prepare a bath with them and hot water. Submerge until the waist during 15 to 20 minutes.
Beet green fast. Eat nothing but steamed green beets for 5 to 10 days.
White Turnip fast. Mash it and eat it. You can add some herbs for taste. You can also steam and eat the turnip greens. They are very healthy.
After the age of 18, every woman should take a supplement of calcium and magnesium. A great source of these can be found in cold-pressed sesame oil and in rice bran syrup.
Sufficient amounts of calcium and magnesium in your diet, combined with exercise, can prevent cramps.
Yogi Bhajan taught us that the reservoirs of calcium are kept in the woman’s body in her thighs. He recommended that they always be kept warm.
In India, yogurt is always served with meals. Yogurt cleans the digestive system. It can also be applied externally as a skin cleanser. Homemade yogurt has a greater acidophilus content and is easy to make.
A great way to treat yourself after your period (or after camping in the mountains of New Mexico during the summer solstice), is to clean the pores and remove bodily odors by applying yogurt to the whole body while in the bath, then rinse it out.
Yogurt contains lacto bacteria, intestine-friendly bacterial cultures that maintain a healthy colon and even lower the risk of colon cancer. It is a rich source of calcium. The lactic acid in yogurt aids in the digestion of milk calcium, making it easier to absorb.
The bacterial cultures in yogurt have also been shown to stimulate infection-fighting white cells in the bloodstream. Yogurt decreases yeast infections. Plain yogurt contains around ten to fourteen grams of protein per eight ounces and lowers cholesterol.
The best yogurt is one which contains only live and active cultures and milk.
The following are foods that strengthen the sexual organs:
– Eggplant. The most powerful vegetable for a woman. Energizes her system.
– Mango. Good for menstrual imbalance. Due to the acidity of the Mango, it is recommended that you drink a glass of milk or eat yogurt afterward to balance the acidity.
– Yogi Tea. Recommended to drink regularly, especially before intercourse. You can make your own. Check our recipe section!
– Persimmons. They enhance a woman’s sexual energy.
Ginger, Garlic & Onion “The trinity”
You should add these three to your diet. They have tremendous benefits for the body.
Ginger– Balances the nervous system. Add it to your diet when your menstruation is very heavy.
Onions- Great for cleansing the blood. If you are anemic, eat onion in addition to iron and B-complex.
When traveling to places like India and looking to avoid mosquitoes, eat 2 onions a day for a month before traveling. This will keep the mosquitoes away!
Garlic– It acts as a blood purifier. Add it to your diet when experiencing irregular menstrual flow, as long as it doesn’t cause gas.
Eat light during menstruation
It’s best to keep your food intake light during menstruation. Because of hormonal changes, a heavy diet would stress the body even more.
Almonds are the most nutritious nuts. They can be used internally and externally. They are a great source of protein for vegetarians.
Almonds, like most nuts, were thought to have too much fat to be a healthy snack. Studies now show that ninety percent of the fat in almonds is unsaturated fat, and frequent consumption will lower blood cholesterol levels.
One study showed that three ounces of almonds a day actually lowered a person’s cholesterol by 14 percent.
Almonds are loaded with protein, fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin E, zinc, selenium, copper, phosphorus, biotin, riboflavin, niacin iron, many other antioxidants, and phytochemicals.
Our heart consumes Hz of energy a day 80. A handful of almonds will give you that energy.
Because the peel is astringent, it is best to soak them over night and eat them peeled in the morning. The peels are good to eat only during menstruation. Young children should eat almonds peeled.
Best fruits for woman
Especially beneficial are oranges, bananas, mango, papaya, pears, peaches, plums, persimmons, and pomegranates.
Green Chiles are especially good for women. They have chlorophyll. Yogi Bhajan said that a woman needs more chlorophyll than any other creature on the earth. Green Chiles have a high content of vitamin C. They prevent constipation by keeping waste pockets from developing in the intestinal tract. They also prevent mouth odor that comes with menstruation.
Always use salad dressing
Even when a woman wants to eat totally raw she needs to add salad dressing, otherwise this will cause abdominal gas, something especially bad for pregnant women.
The best salad dressing is cold pressed olive (summer) or sesame oil (winter), lemon juice, and malt vinegar (not white). Leave it for 15 minutes before eating.
The best is un-ground whole wheat wheatberries. They have many benefits for women as they strengthen the gums and teeth, prevent lower back pain, and maintain the skin and the intestinal track health.
These are great for one-day fast each week. Soak in water overnight until soft and puffy. Serve with milk and honey. Very nutritious!
